FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Personal Stories Project held their 2nd Annual Palm Springs Pride Mixer & Garden Party on Saturday, November 5th at the home of Joseph Chan and Charles Chan Massey in Cathedral City, CA.
More than 75 guests attended and just over $7,500 has been raised as of press time, with donations continuing to come in.
10% of the net proceeds will be donated to DAP Health to help further their organizational goals. The remainder will be donated to the 20+ other non-profit organizations that the PSP supports through their annual giving program each December. Guests also had the opportunity to donate hygiene amenities which will be assembled into kits and delivered to DAP Health for distribution to their clients in need and clothing that will be donated to Revivals Stores, which donates 100% of its profits, over $1 million a year, to support comprehensive medical and mental healthcare at DAP Health.
The inaugural Clela Rorex Memorial Allyship Award was presented to long-time supporter Madge Woods. Named after the progressive former Boulder Colorado County Clerk who issued marriage licenses to five same sex couples in the 1970’s, this reward recognizes an individual who supports the organization on a regular basis and is a pure ally without any specific connection to the LGBTQ+ community, but is rather a person who is an ally simply because it is the right thing to do.
Special thanks to our grand prize donors:
